Homeward Bound is a beer built for the changing seasons - from a brisk autumn afternoon to a snowy evening by the fire.
Sweet malts and dried fruit reside on the nose. The malt bill brings out notes of maple, cacao, caramel and toffee. Flavor progresses to dark chocolate and mocha with a lasting bitterness that ties it all together.
Homeward Bound has been brewed without the use of dry-hopping. Omitting the dry-hop is normal for certain styles of beers that focus on malts, yeast or adjunct profiles.
In these beers, bittering hops are added in the kettle to provide a background of balanced bitterness.
